LENT starts on Wednesday when ashes are distributed at 8am and 12.10pm Mass.
Lent Station Masses: Bishop John invites the priests and people of York to journey through Lent by attending Station Masses which will be held in a different church each week - here at St Wilfrid's there will be one each Friday at 12.10pm. Please take a leaflet from the porch for further information.

RITE OF ELECTION - Sunday 9 March, 3pm at the Cathedral, Middlesbrough. A coach will be leaving York at 1.15pm from the Memorial Gardens and returning approx 6pm - cost £5 per person. List for names in the porch.

URGENT REPAIRS: You may have noticed the dampness coming through the stonework over the confessional. This week the architect has examined the valley guttering and has reported that the lead has split in several places and urgently needs replacing. As yet we do not have an estimate but we have been warned that the cost will run into many thousands.
