ST THERESE OF LISIEUX - a time of grace for England and Wales. We are very privileged in York to have the relics in the Minster for her feast day. The relics will arrive at the Minster at 6pm on Thur 1 October and are taken to the next destination at midday on Fri 2 at 12 noon. The Minster will be open for veneration of the relics through the night and services will be held on the hour.
VOLUNTEERS are required to act as stewards throughout the 18 hours of the visit of the Relics of St Therese, if you are able to help please put your name on the list in the porch or telephone Manuel on 01904 783304.

CONFIRMATION 2010: Thanks to the young people who have written to request preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation. A meeting for parents and candidates will take place on Thursday 10 September, 7.30pm in the Upper Room.
MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION STUDY DAY, Saturday 12 September at Askham Bryan College. The cost of the day is £11 and St Wilfrid's Ministers are asked to contribute £5 towards the day. If you would like to book a place, please put your name on the list in the porch and the £5 to be handed in at the Sacristy in an envelope with your name on the front by Sunday 9 August.
MINISTERS OF THE WORD: Our Wednesday meetings are discontinued during July and August - all Readers are encouraged to prepare at home during these two months.
ANOINTING OF THE SICK: Thanks to all who helped last Sunday and who brought food.
THE MIDDLESBROUGH DIOCESAN CHOIR provide musical support to major events in the diocesan calendar. Their repertoire ranges from simple congregational singing to part singing and encompasses a whole range of levels of musical ability. Rehearsals every 2nd Sunday of the month at Our Lady's, Acomb, 2-4pm starting again on Sunday 13th Sep. Why not join them for 2009-10?

THE LINDISFARNE WALKING PILGRIMAGE. 15-30 Aug. starting with an Induction Service at the Bar Convent Chapel at 4pm on the 15th, then Mass here at St Wilfrid's at 6.15pm.
CARECENT has written to thank all who support them by donating food, etc. for their store cupboards. Needs at present are: unheated tinned meat, especially ham, cereals other than Corn Flakes, porridge and instant porridge, Tinned tomatoes, preferably whole not chopped, Baked beans and tinned spaghetti, Toiletries - small soaps, toothpaste and brushes, deodorants, shampoos for individuals, razors and small towels.,
