SUDAN EMERGENCY APPEAL The retiring collection taken last week amounted to £493.35. This is a very urgent appeal if anyone would like to make a further contribution please hand it to Canon Michael. The theme this year is the Blessing of Families. You will be given a colour newsletter today as you leave Mass. CONFIRMATION - Rite of Enrolment Today, Liam, Stephanie, Denise, Jacob, Rhona, Fred, Eilish, Joshua, Jacob, Lara and Edward are making a commitment on their journey towards the Sacrament of Confirmation. Please support them by your prayers and friendship. BECOMING A CATHOLIC If you are not already a member of the Catholic Church and would like to explore the possibility of becoming one, a meeting with me, Canon Michael, will take place in the Rectory on Tuesday 13 July at 8pm. SISTER EMILY (some will remember her as Sister Gerard) former headteacher of St Wilfrid's Secondary and St Margaret Clitherow Schools, died peacefully during the week. A memorial service will be held for her in the near future. Further details later. Please remember her and her grieving family at this time. LITURGY PREPARATION Thurs 8 July at 7pm in the Upper Room. CONGRATULATIONS to Mary Betteridge who is to be baptised today and to Lisa Alderson and Simon Mendez who were married here this weekend. SEA SUNDAY Retiring collection next weekend for the Apostleship of the Sea. SPRINGBOARD - Sunday 11 July at Ampleforth Abbey, 11.30am - 6.00pm. Mass 12 noon. After Mass the swimming pool and other sports facilities will be available until 4.00pm. Disco in Sports Hall at 4.30pm. SPONSORED WALK : Thanks to those who walked the 'walls' and those who sponsored us so generously. Up to the present time £1320.00 has been raised. £1,000 of this total was given by one family.
