SUMMER DRAW Tickets are available today. Please take a few books as you leave Church and sell them to your family and friends. If you could also help by making a donation towards the first prize or any other prize, please put your name on the list in the porch. Tickets 50p. First Prize £200.

CANON MICHAEL I will be on holiday from the 29 July to 22 August with my family in Ireland. Thanks to all the local priests who have generously offered to celebrate the weekday Masses and look after the hospitals. Thanks also to the priests who are supplying on Sundays - Fr John Murphy, Fr Curristan and the priest who is making the appeal on behalf of the Verona Fathers on 17/18 Aug. Please note Monday - Friday 12.10pm Mass only from 29 July to 26 August except next Thursday (8 August) when there will also be a 9am Mass.

THE HOLY ISLAND TRIP on Wednesday next leaves English Martyrs Church at Sam and Our Lady's at 8.15am and hopes to return into York by 9pm.

BARN DANCE Friday 13 September at English Martyrs Hall. The evening will be led by Kath Greener and the Corn Tickets £3.50. Bring a plate for the shared table and a bottle of your choice. Come along and enjoy the fun - if you don't dance just enjoy the company. Proceeds St Wilfrid's Refurbishment

MINISTERS OF THE EUCHARIST - Formation and Recommissioning Day, Saturday 5 October at Central F York University. The charge for each participant is £15 (includes dinner, coffee, hire of hall and the cost of the speaker etc.). St Wilfrid's ministers are asked to contribute £7.50 towards the day. DIOCESAN WOMEN'S COMMISSION 'A look at Vatican II' led by Caroline Dollard at Holy Name Church, Middlesbrough on 14 September.

DAY OF REFLECTION organised by the Ascent Group on Tuesday 8 October, 10.30am - 3.30pm at St Aelred's new centre on Fifth Avenue. The day will be led by Rev. Nigel Bavidge of the Leeds Diocese. Further details later.

THE ST VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY is celebrating 150 years in York (1852 - 2002) with Concelebrated Mass on Wednesday 9 October, 7.00pm at St George's Church. All welcome.

ST GEORGE'S DINNER DANCE - Friday 22 November. Ebor Suite, York Racecourse. Live band with singer, four course meal - all for £19.50 per head. This is always a lovely Deanery get-together. List in porch for names, etc.
