ST WILFRID'S 13TH CENTENARY- On Monday 12 October 2009 we celebrate this great occasion with Mass at 7pm and afterwards at the Guildhall. A finger buffet is to be served at the Guildhall and your help is needed to provide the food - please sign up in the porch today.
We have a final meeting to prepare on Thursday next, 8 October at 7.30pm in the Upper Room.
SINGING PRACTICE, Monday 5 October at 7.30pm in the Upper Room to run through the psalm etc. All very welcome.
RELICS OF ST THERESE VISIT TO YORK MINSTER: What a wonderful privilege it was to have the relics of this great saints here at our doorstep. Congratulations and thanks to the Dean and the Minster staff for the detailed preparations they made and for seeing the whole operation through so successfully.
My thanks also to all the people who lost hours of sleep to steward both at the Minster and St Wilfrid's. Many people came to confession throughout the visit. It was an inspiring 18 hours that we will never forget.
CAFOD HARVEST FAST DAY: The proceeds of our Friday fast will be collected in today.

FIRST COMMUNION PREPARATION: Today at our 11am Mass we enrol the children as they take their first step toward First Communion
CONGRATULATIONS to Marian Quinn and Robert Fenton who were married this weekend.
JAMES DIGBY one of our senior altar servers, has just returned from his summer voluntary work in Malawi. He would like to share something of his experience with us at the Sunday Masses on 10/11 October and will take a collection to help the people living in poverty in that part of the world.
