FAREWELL It is with great sadness that I must announce that I will be leaving the parish in under a fortnight. I will be leaving the Carmelite Order and beginning a new phase of my life. I will be leaving York with many happy memories and certainly will not forget the many parishioners I've come to know in my time here. With all my prayers and best wishes, Anthony.

CONFIRMATION GROUP Our next gathering of young people preparing for this sacrament takes place on Thursday next (10 June) 7-8.30pm in the Upper Room.

BAPTISM PREPARATION If you have a child for baptism please get in touch with Canon Michael - next course Saturdays 12, 19 June, 3, 10 July. All who are seeking Baptism for their children are requested to attend a course.

CONGRATULATIONS to Fr John Murphy who celebrates his Golden Jubilee of Priesthood this week. Fr John celebrates our 12.10pm Mass regularly at St Wilfrid's.

INDIA PROJECT Our Parish Fast Day was last Friday, 4 June. The box for the proceeds of our fasting is on the 'gifts' table today.

CaFE - Catholic Faith Exploration. Helping Catholics get more out or their faith. A series of seven video presentations in English Martyrs Hall on Tuesdays 1, 8. 15, 22 June; 6, 13 and 20 July at 7.30pm. All very welcome.

SPONSORED WALK TODAY Sunday 6 June round the City Walls starting at 1.30pm from Church. Help raise funds for St Wilfrid's Church refurbishment. Refreshments afterwards. Sponsorship forms available in the porch. All welcome.

SATURDAY REFRESHMENTS - the next 'day' will be Saturday 26 June when we'll have our Strawberry Tea. Tombola prizes welcome. Also help on the day would be much appreciated.

CHURCH FLOWERS Willing hands are needed for our flower rota. If you could help please give your name and telephone to Canon Ryan - you do not have to be an expert flower arranger to help in this ministry.

FUNDRAISING MEETING Monday 14 June at 7.30pm in the Sacristy.

CATHOLIC HISTORY DAY Saturday 12 June at the Bar Convent. Coffee 10am, first talk 10.30am. Cost £9 includes refreshments but not lunch, See poster in porch.

THE LORD WHO SPEAKS Saturday 24 July 10.30am - 3.30pm. Please book in by putting your name on the list in the porch.
