ST WILFRID: This year marks the 13th centenary since the death of St Wilfrid. As he is the patron of our Church it is proposed to celebrate his feast day this year with special solemnity - Monday 12 October. A meeting in preparation for this takes place on Thursday 18 June, 7.30pm in the Upper Room. All very welcome.
WELCOME to George and Liberty Rix who will be baptised into the Christian community this weekend. Congratulations to all the family.
FIRST COMMUNION - Sunday 14 June, the Feast of Corpus Christi. This is a big day in the life of the parish and we are all asked to pray for the children and their families.
CELEBRATION OF PRIESTHOOD - Friday 12 June, 7.00pm. Mass will be celebrated at the Cathedral, Middlesbrough in thanksgiving for the gift of Priesthood - several priests are celebrating jubilees this year. All very welcome.
INTERNATIONAL MASS Sunday 19 July at 11.00am. A meeting for all interested in preparing for this Mass takes place on Tuesday 9 June at 7.30pm in the Upper Room. All very welcome.
THE YEAR OF ST PAUL (June 2008 - June 2009): The closing Mass will be celebrated at York Minster on Saturday 27 June at 6.30pm. All very welcome.
ST THOF LISIEUX - A time of grace for England and Wales. The relics of this great saint will be visiting England and Wales from 16 September to 16 October 2009. We are very privileged in York to have the relics in the Minster for her feast day, 1-2 October. A date to keep in your diary.
THANKS to all who supported Elizabeth James' Cake Sale last Sunday. A total of £86.20 was raised towards the laptop for the village school in Morocco. Well done Elizabeth.
THE RETIRING COLLECTION taken during the summer months is to help towards the maintenance of our three buildings - church, rectory and St Margaret Clitherow Shrine.
"ONCE A CATHOLIC ...?" : A diocesan workshop to help us reach out to Catholics who no longer practise their faith - Saturday 27 June, 10.00am - 3.30pm at English Martyrs Church. The cost of the day is £5 - booking essential. Please put your name on the list in the porch if you wish to go and put payment in envelope with your name on and hand to Canon Michael.
TASTE AND SEE 2009 - a day of bite sized prayer and spirituality, Saturday 13 June at York City Centre Churches including St Wilfrid's. A variety of workshops are being offered by Christians of different denominations allowing participants to try new ways of relating to God and to one another. Please see poster and take a leaflet (with booking slip) from the porch today.
MASS IN YORK MINSTER Monday 8 June at 7.30pm. The Knights of St Columba are celebrating the Saints feast day and invite you to join them for Mass in the Choir of the Minster.

LINDISFARNE PILGRIMAGE: Each summer the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton organise an ecumenical walk exploring a particular aspect of our faith and Christian heritage.
