BECOMING A CATHOLIC If you are not already a member of the Catholic Church and would like to explore the possibility of becoming one, or if any of our congregation knows of anyone, a meeting with me, Canon Michael, will take place on Thursday 25 July at 7.30pm in the Upper Room.

MINISTERS OF THE WORD Francesca Murray, a Diocesan Trainer of Readers is coming to St Wilfrid's on Wednesday 10 July at 7pm. All Ministers of the Word are asked to attend.

ONGOING FORMATION - 'Being a Catholic Today'. The fourth in this series of talks (Being a Catholic Bishop Today) led by Bishop John, takes place on Tuesday next (9 July) at 7.30pm at St Margaret Clitherow's Church, Haxby. All welcome.

SEA SUNDAY - 14 July. 100,000 ships visit the UK each year and around two thirds of those who work on them are Catholic. Many seafarers have been away from their family and their country for months. The Apostleship of the Sea helps by offering friendship, providing pastoral support and enables Catholics to attend Mass. A retiring collection will be taken next weekend to support this work.

THE LORD WHO SPEAKS - a Day of Scripture Reading and Prayer at Ampleforth Abbey on Saturday 20 July, 11am - 3.30pm. All welcome.
