CANON MICHAEL Thanks for all your prayers, greetings and good wishes during my recent illness. I have just returned from Ireland and am currently convalescing. The hope is that I will be back in the parish after mid September.

SHARING OUR FAITH As Catholics we are called upon to share our faith. You have an opportunity to do this on a weekly basis (Tuesdays) in the Upper Room. A meeting takes place on 16 September at 7.30pm to prepare us to do this ministry well.

PART-TIME CHAPLAIN The Governors of All Saints School seek to appoint a chaplain (15 hours weekly, term time only plus two weeks in holiday time) to support the spiritual and religious life of the school. The successful applicant will be a committed Catholic and will take a leading role in preparing liturgies, supporting and developing spiritual life and building links with parishes and the Diocesan Youth Service and participate in residential retreats and the school's pilgrimage to Lourdes. Application forms from the Headteacher, Mr W Scriven and will be returned by 26 September 2003.

FIRST COMMUNION PREPARATION Parents who have children of First Communion age 2004 (8 years) are invited to a meeting in the Upper Room on Wednesday 17 September at 7.30pm.

SUMMER DRAW Please see list of winners on the noticeboard.

PLEASE CAN YOU HELP? Our cleaning teams need a few more generous people to give one or two hours per month cleaning the Church. It isn't hard work if it is shared. If you can help please put your name on the list in the porch.

CONGRATULATIONS to Jenny and Dominic and Heather and Philip who were married here this weekend.

FUNDRAISING MEETING Mon. 15 Sep., 7.30pm in the Upper Room. All welcome.

DAY OF REFLECTION - Thursday 9 October, 10.30am-3pm at English Martyrs Hall, Dalton Terrace. The day will be led by Father Gerry Mulligan. All welcome.

FUNDRAISING DAY AT ST CRUX (to help York sick pilgrims to go to Lourdes) will be held on Tuesday 30 September from 10am to 4pm. Help is needed from 8am and if you can help serving sandwiches, washing up, clearing tables, etc. could you please complete the relevant details on the forms at the back of Church. If you can't help on the rota, perhaps you could provide a cake or bric-a-brac. Any help will be greatly appreciated. CHRISTIANS IN COMMUNICATION in conjunction with BBC North Yorkshire, is to launch a scheme with the aim of training radio presenters and contributors, broadening the scope of the Sunday Breakfast Show and who may then pursue a career in broadcasting. For further details please see notice on board in porch.

SATURDAY REFRESHMENTS Because of unforeseen circumstances our next Refreshments Day will be Saturday 27 September. Cakes etc would be welcomed.
