THE GOSPEL CHALLENGE 18 - 20 October 2002. An invitation to all members of the parish who would like to come and reflect on the Gospel and its impact on us today. Booking forms available from the porch today.

DAY FOR MINISTERS OF THE WORD - Saturday 19 October at York University. The charge for each participant is £17.50. St Wilfrid's participants are asked to contribute £8.50 towards the day - list in porch for names. Our weekly meetings begin again on Wed. next (11th) at 8pm in Upper Room.

BARN DANCE Friday 13 September at English Martyrs Hall. The evening will be led by Kath Greener and the Cornlanders Entrance £3.50. Bring a plate for the shared table and a bottle of your choice. Come along and enjoy the fun - if you don't dance just enjoy the company. Tickets available today.

ST SAMPSON'S FUNDRAISING DAY Monday 16 September for St Wilfrid's Refurbishment Fund. This is our annual event that has helped the parish so much in the past. As this is the last time that St Sampson's is available we hope to have a very successful day. Help is needed in all areas - all the usual stall items, cakes, tombola prizes, bric-a-brac etc and your help on the day would be much appreciated. Please see list in porch.

RCIA (Rite of Christian initiation of Adults) If you are interested in becoming a Catholic or if you know of someone who may be interested, our meetings start on Tuesday 15 October at 7.30pm in the Upper Room. inquiries - 624767.

FIRST COMMUNION PREPARATION The first meeting for parents takes place on Wed. 16 October at 7.30pm in the Upper Room. Further details later.

LOURDES FUNDRAISING DAY at St Crux last Thursday raised nearly £800. Thanks to all those who helped and supported in any way - a wonderful effort!
