FIRST COMMUNION PREPARATION Theme 'Receiving': it is you, the faith community, that welcomes these children to the table of the Lord as you once welcomed them into the community through baptism. We thank you for helping them to grow in their faith by your word and example. Let us continue to pray for them and their families.

BAPTISM PREPARATION If you have a child for Baptism please get in touch with Canon Michael - next course Saturdays 12, 19 June, 3, 10 July. All who are seeking Baptism for their children are requested to attend a course.
NINE HOLY HOURS to pray for vocations and the growth of the Church - first Thursday of each month in June, July, September, October, November, December 04 and February, March, April 05. These Holy Hours will be directed between 11am - 12 noon. Please make a special effort to come and pray.
CONGRATULATIONS to Judith Herbert and Martin Thornton who were married here this weekend.
PARISH FAST DAY for the India Project - last Friday, 7 May. The box is on the 'gifts' table for proceeds of our fasting.
DAY OF REFLECTION organised by Ascent and led by Sister Cecilia Goodman CJ on Wednesday 19 May at English Martyrs Parish Hall, 10.30am - 3.30pm. Mass will be celebrated during the day. Please bring a little food for a shared lunch. Tea and Coffee provided. Suggested donation £4. All welcome.
SPONSORED WALK Sunday 6 June round the City Walls, starting at 1.30pm from Church. Help raise funds for St Wilfrid's Church refurbishment. Refreshments afterwards. All welcome, especially newcomers to the parish - it's a great way to chat and learn something about the history and buildings of York at the same time. Sponsorship forms available at the back of the Church.
DISCERNMENT WEEKEND Friday 4 - Sunday 6 June 2004 at Ushaw College, Durham. This weekend is aimed at adults of 18+ who are undecided as to which vocation God is calling them to. Please pick a leaflet/see poster.

THE LORD WHO SPEAKS - A day of scripture reading and prayer at Ampleforth Abbey for Christians of all denominations in North and East Yorkshire. Saturday 24 July 10.30am - 3.30pm. Soft drinks provided - bring your own lunch. Please book in by putting your name on the list in the porch.
DAY OF PRAYER at The Holy Island of Lindisfarne, Saturday 26 June 2004 led by Mgr. Ronnie Brown to pray for seafarers and the work of the Apostleship of the Sea.
