BANGLADESH CYCLONE EMERGENCY APPEAL: More than 5 million people are in urgent need of food, safe water and shelter after Cyclone Sidr ravaged communities along Bangladesh's southern coast. The situation is critical. CAFOD has been working in Bangladesh for more than 20 years, supporting local organisations who are already on the ground responding to this disaster. With our support they will reach more people who are in desperate need of help. A retiring collection will be taken this weekend. CAFOD gift aid envelopes are available from the porch.
ADVENT DAY OF RECONCILIATION: Priests will be available to hear Confessions from 10.00am to 4.00pm on Saturday 22 December here at St Wilfrid's.

A SAVIOUR IN ST SAMPSON'S SQUARE - a traditional Nativity Play takes place on Monday 17 December. Performance times: 12.30pm and 1.30pm. See poster for details.
NEW BISHOP OF MIDDLESBROUGH: Mgr Terence Patrick Drainey, President of Ushaw College has been appointed by Pope Benedict XVI. He will receive Episcopal ordination on Friday 25 January 2008 at 12 noon in St Mary's Cathedral Middlesbrough. He asks for your prayer support.
MINISTERS OF WORD AND COMMUNION: If you are available for Christmas ministry please put your name on the list in the Church porch as soon as possible.
CHURCH REPAIRS - an update: Upon further inspection by the architect and stonemason it is deemed necessary to erect scaffolding over the organ as internal work on the window is essential. The cost of this work will be substantial and the church needs your financial support as much as ever. Many thanks to the generous donations received last week - £250, £100 and the anonymous donation that came in through the Sunday collection.
