 Baptism Preparation Course (1)

FIRST COMMUNION PREPARATION The first of our nine themes is 'Celebrating' Each theme is centred on a specific action in family living, in the life of Jesus, and in a particular part of the Mass. The action of 'Celebrating' is related in the story of the Wedding Feast at Cana. When we gather together as the family of God, we celebrate and praise God.

Children's Gathering: Saturday 16 October 10-11.30am

Parish Celebration: Sunday 17 October 11.00am

CONFIRMATION PREPARATION Our candidates meet again on Thursday 14 October at 7pm in the Upper Room. Please keep all preparing for the sacraments in your prayers.

RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults): If you are interested in becoming a Catholic or if you know of someone who may be interested, our meetings take place on Tuesdays at 7.30pm in the Upper Room.

BAPTISM PREPARATION If you have a child for Baptism please get in touch with Canon Michael - next course Saturdays 16, 23, 30 October and 6 November, 2-3pm in the Upper Room.

MUSIC GROUP If you would like to help lead our Sunday worship by being part of our group, please come along to the Upper Room on Monday at 6.30pm.

ASCENT DAY OF REFLECTION - Thursday 14 October, 10.30am - 3.30pm at English Martyrs, York. The day will be led by Philip Jakob, Master of Music at St Marie's Cathedral, Sheffield. The day will include music and prayer of the lona Community and is open to anyone who would like to attend. A donation of £5 would be appreciated. Please bring some food for a shared lunch, tea and coffee will be provided.

CAFOD HARVEST FAST DAY Our parish raised £576.60.

JUSTICE AND PEACE GROUP meeting on Monday 11 October, 7.30pm at St Bede's Pastoral Centre. 'Race Equality Issues in York'. All welcome.

YORK DEANERY DINNER DANCE - Friday 4 February 2005 in the Voltigeur Suite, York Racecourse. Live band with singer. Four course meal £21 per head. Could we make up a couple of tables from St Wilfrid's? Please put your name, etc. on the list in the porch if you would like a place.
