SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION: Anyone who would like to be Confirmed and who will be over l4 years of age on l July 07 is invited to get in touch with Canon Michael before Lent begins on Wednesday 21 February.
MARRIAGE PREPARATION: All people planning to be married at St Wilfrid's are invited to a one day preparation course run by Marriage Care at St Bede's Pastoral Centre. The 2007 dates are: Saturdays 23 June, 7 July and 3 November. Application forms available from Canon Michael.
RITE OF ELECTION: Sunday 25 February at 3pm in the Cathedral. If you would like a seat on the coach please put your name on the list in the porch. Adults £5. Children free.
BISHOP JOHN: Due to illness our Bishop will be away from the Diocese for three months. Please keep him in your prayers. A copy of his letter is available for everyone in the porch today.
PARISH FORUM: Sunday 18 February, 3.30pm - 5.00pm in the Upper Room. All welcome. Any items for the agenda to be handed in by Friday 16 please.
LENTEN LUNCHES: lf you could help on one of the Fridays of Lent by providing soup and rolls and tea and coffee, please put your name on the list in the porch.
PHASE II of the Church Refurbishment. The altar rails have now been removed and taken for adaptation to form new kneelers for the Sacred Heart Chapel. The stonemasons are already working on the new altar and this will be put in place shortly after Easter along with the new ambo and presidential chair. The work on the stone steps will also take place at this time.
DIOCESAN PILGRIMAGE TO LOURDES: 25 May - 1 June 07. Booking forms for the flight from Durham Tees Valley are now available from Canon Michael.
CHRISM MASS - Tuesday 3 April at the Cathedral, Middlesbrough. A coach will be going from York picking up at St Aelred's 9.15am, Memorial Gardens 9.30am and Our Lady's, Acomb 9.45am. lf you would like to book a seat please put your name on the list in the porch. Cost £7.
WOMEN'S WORLD DAY OF PRAYER - Friday 2 March. Central Service at 2.00pm at St Martin-le-Grand, Coney Street. Prepared by the women of Paraguay. All welcome.
