The relics will arrive at the Minster at 6.00pm on Thursday 1 October and are taken to the next destination at midday on Friday 2nd. The Minster will be open for veneration of the relics all through the night and services will be held on the hour.

ST WILFRID: This year marks the 13th centenary since the death of St Wilfrid. As he is the patron of our Church it is proposed to celebrate his feast day this year with special solemnity -Monday 12 October 2009. At our first meeting it was decided that we invite all the priests of the Diocese (St Wilfrid is the second patron of the Middlesbrough Diocese), ecumenical guests as well as people from the York parishes. Leaflets will be distributed throughout the city advertising the event and refreshments would be served in the Guild Hall after the Mass. Many people will be needed to help with the preparations so if you can come to the next meeting on Tuesday 21 July at 7.30pm in the Upper Room it would be most appreciated.

SEA SUNDAY; 'Our Call to serve' Please support the valuable work our Seafarers do - the retiring collection taken today is for the work of the Apostleship of the Sea who provide pastoral and practical help to seafarers visiting our shores.

WE WELCOME Daniel Lynch and Thomas Jatto who are to be Baptised into our Christian community today. Congratulations to both families.
