HOW PURE IS YOUR GOLD? Stop gold undermining the poor. Gold mining savagely damages poor communities in the Developing World by poisoning water supplies, destroying traditional villages and industries and even financing conflict. CAFOD is calling on major high-street jewellery retailers in the UK to pressure their suppliers to make sure that the gold they sell is responsibly sourced and benefits the communities where it is mined.

You can help change this by signing the Gold Chain Petition in the porch as you leave church today and/or take and post one of the pre-printed postcards to a major gold mining company. The Gold Chain Petition will be presented later this month by a group ofYork parishes to a local jeweller pressing them to use their influence to get gold responsibly and ethically produced.

You are invited to take part in this Mass for all your family and friends who have died, Candles will be available to bring to the altar in memory of your loved ones.
