THE YEAR OF THE EUCHARIST October 2004-5: Some useful booklets and leaflets are available from the Piety Stall to help us reflect on the great gift of the Eucharist during this coming year.

ADVENT PENITENTIAL SERVICE for the York Pastoral Area takes place here at St Wilfrid's at 2.30pm, on Saturday 18 December. The priests of the area will be available for confessions.

A WARM WELCOME to the pupils and teachers from All Saints School to our Saturday evening Mass. The young people will be taking a leading role in our Mass - also Deirdre Rowe, Head of Music at the school.

SERVICE OF WORD AND COMMUNION Our 12.10pm Service of Word and Communion will be discontinued as from the New Year. The present thinking is towards a Liturgy of the Word if no Mass is celebrated. A sincere word of thanks to all who have helped with this Monday midday service.

Please note that our Monday Mass will be at 8.00am as from the New Year.

PARISH MINISTRIES Church Cleaning, Serving in the Shop, Welcoming people to Mass, Music, Cantor, Reader, Catechist, Serving Tea and Coffee after Sunday Mass, Flower arranging, etc. etc. Please put your name on the list in the porch if you can help.

MINISTERS OF WORD AND COMMUNION Would all Ministers who put their names on the list for Christmas Masses, please check the notices on the board.

Readers meeting for all involved in our Christmas weekend Masses takes place on Wednesday 22 December at 7.30pm. Please make a special effort to attend.

LITURGY OF THE WORD WITH CHILDREN Could you help in this important ministry in proclaiming God's Word to the children during the 11am Mass? Also, if you have any unwanted instruments that the children could use, we would be most grateful. Please let Canon Michael know if you can help in any way.

CHRISTMAS DRAW tickets available today. Please take a few books of tickets to sell to your family and friends and return counterfoils and monies as soon as possible. Draw takes place next Sunday at 12noon in the Upper Room.

FLOWERS FOR CHRISTMAS To help beautify the Church for Christmas, a retiring collection will be taken today.

THE RETIRING COLLECTION next weekend is for the SVP charities.

TABLE TOP SALE today (Sunday) after the 11.00am Mass in the Upper Room. Proceeds to Sister Anastasia and St Wilifid's Church.

CHRISTINE GILBERT is retiring after almost 25 years teaching at St George's School. A farewell Mass takes place on Friday 17 December at 9am in the school hall. All welcome.
