BISHOP TERENCE PATRICK DRAINEY will receive Episcopal Ordination on Friday 25 January 2008. As this is an invitation only celebration, the new Bishop will be here in York to celebrate Mass at St Aelred's on Tuesday 29 January at 7.00pm. All welcome.

WEEK OF PRAYER FOR CHRISTIAN UNITY 18 - 25 January. This is a special time of prayer for unity among the Christian Churches. Please take time to pray and reflect upon the broken body of Christ, The Church.

THE CONFIRMATION GROUP has its first meeting of 2008 on Thursday 7 February at 7.30pm in the Upper Room.

RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS (RCIA) - The first meeting of 2008 takes place on Tuesday 15 January at 7.30pm in the Upper Room. The Retreat Day in preparation for the Rite of Election takes place on Saturday 26 January at All Saints Lower School, Nunnery Lane and the Rite of Election takes place on the 1st Sunday of Lent, 10 February, at the Cathedral, Middlesbrough.

MARRIAGE PREPARATION: Courses for 2008 are Saturdays, 19 January, 26 April, 14 June and 8 November. All take place at St Bede's Pastoral Centre, Blossom Street. Application forms available from Canon Michael.

MINISTERS OF THE WORD: Meetings restart on Wed. next (16 Jan.) at 8.00pm in the Upper Room. I encourage all readers to attend and anyone else who would like to come.
