ST WILFRID: This year marks the 13th centenary since the death of St Wilfrid. As he is thepatron of our Church it is proposed to celebrate his feast day this year with special solemnity -Monday 12 October. A meeting in preparation for this takes place on Thursday 18 June, 7.30pm in the Upper Room. All very welcome.
FIRST COMMUNION: Today at our 11am Mass 27 children will be receiving Holy Communionfor the first time. This is a very special day for our parish and I know you will pray for all thechildren and their families.
CONFIRMATION: Our Bishop is due to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation in 2010 for theYork Deanery. If you are 14 years of age or older by the end of December 2009 and would like to be Confirmed you are invited to write to Canon Michael expressing your desire for the Sacrament and perhaps a little of your faith story by 12th July 2009.
BAPTISM PREPARATION COURSE: If you have a child for Baptism you are invited to a parentspreparation course on Saturday 11th and 18th July, 2-3pm in the Upper Room. Please have a wordwith Canon Michael if you would like to attend.
HOLY HOUR for the priests and people of the York Deanery, Thursday 18 June, 2.00pm - 3.00pmat St Wilfrid's.
ANOINTING OF THE SICK: On Sunday 26 July at our 11am Mass we will celebrate theSacrament of the Sick. If you have a serious illness then you are eligible to be anointed.
MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION: At our Masses next weekend our Ministers will renew their commitment to serve for another year. We will also commission temporarily some new ministers to serve in our parish.
INTERNATIONAL MASS Sunday 19 July at 11.00am. The next meeting for all interested in preparing for this Mass takes place on Tuesday 30 June at 7.30pm in the Upper Room. We then have two rehearsals - 7th and 14 July at 7.30pm. All very welcome.
THE YEAR OF ST PAUL (June 2008 - June 2009): The closing Mass will be celebrated at York Minster on Saturday 27 June at 6.30pm. All very welcome.
ST THERESE OF LISIEUX - A time of grace for England and Wales. The relics of this great saint will be visiting England and Wales from 16 September to 16 October 2009. We are very privileged in York to have the relics in the Minster for her feast day, 1-2 October. A date to keep in your diary.
THE RETIRING COLLECTION taken during the summer months is to help towards the maintenance of our three buildings - church, rectory and St Margaret Clitherow Shrine.
ST GEORGE'S CHURCH OPEN DAY. Saturday 20 June. The Church will be open 10.00am -4.00pm. You will be able to see the altar, stained glass, Lady Chapel, historic organ and more and refreshments are available.
ST PAUL IN DEPTH with Father Paul Farrer at St George's on Wednesday 17 June at 7.30pm. £1 to cover costs. All welcome.
"ONCE A CATHOLIC ....?" : A diocesan workshop to help us reach out to Catholics who no longer practise their faith - Saturday 27 June, 10.00am - 3.30pm at English Martyrs Church. The cost of the day is £5 - booking essential. Please put your name on the list in the porch if you wish to go and put payment in envelope with your name on and hand to Canon Michael.
FLOWERS OF THE WORLD Flower Festival, St Clement's Church. 27-28 June. 10am-6pm.

PRAYER FOR PEACE on the first Thursday of each month at St Martin's, Coney Street, 12.45pm - 1.45pm. Everyone welcome to drop in or stay for the hour.
LINDISFARNE PILGRIMAGE: Each summer the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton organise anecumenical walk exploring a particular aspect of our faith and Christian heritage.
