SEA SUNDAY The Apostleship of the Sea helps by offering friendship, providing pastoral support and the Eucharist for the seafarers around our shores. A retiring collection will be taken this weekend to support their work.

BECOMING A CATHOLIC If you are not already a member of the Catholic Church and would like to explore the possibility of becoming one, or if any of our congregation knows of anyone, a meeting with me, Canon Michael, will take place on Thursday 25 July at 7.30pm in the Upper Room.

SHARING OUR FAITH We are all called to build up the Kingdom of God. One way in which we can do this is by sharing our faith with those who are journeying into the Catholic Church. If you would like to know more about our RCIA process with a view to participating in it you are invited to a meeting on Thursday 25 July, 7.30pm in the Upper Room. You are most welcome.

YORK MYSTERY PLAYS - Today, Sunday noon until 7pm. Ten plays from the York Cycle performed on wagons by the seven York Guilds and Companies. Performing at Dean's Park, York Minster South Door, St William's College, Kings Square, Museum Gardens.

STRAWBERRY FAYRE A big 'thank you' to all who supported our fayre last Saturday. A special thanks to those who worked so hard throughout the day. Just over £500 was raised towards the Church Refurbishment Fund.

THE LORD WHO SPEAKS - a Day of Scripture Reading and Prayer at Ampleforth Abbey on Saturday 20 July, 11am - 3.30pm. See poster for details. All welcome.

THE GOSPEL CHALLENGE IS 18 - 20 October 2002 - keep these dales free! Application forms will be available next weekend.

BAPTISMS We welcome two new members who were Baptised into our community last Sunday - Steven and James Gannon. It was a wonderful family gathering with an international flavour.

CONGRATULATIONS to Samantha Faulknew and Bill Hawkes and Valentina Berraondo and Glen Bolilly who were married here today. Also congratulations to Richard and Kim who were married recently.

MINISTRY OF THE WORD Thanks to all who came to the meeting with Francesca. It was time well spent and the spirit of joy was evident. Our weekly meetings are discontinued now for the Summer. We begin again on Wednesday 11 September.

MARIA DOUTHWAITE wishes to thank everyone for their prayerful support during Michael's illness and subsequent demise.
