RACIAL JUSTICE SUNDAY - a time for all communities to focus our prayers and reflections on the issues of racism and racial disadvantaged in our country.

CANON MICHAEL: Thanks for all your prayers, greetings and good wishes during my recent illness. I have returned from Ireland and am currently convalescing. The hope is that I will be back in the parish after mid September.

SHARING OUR FAITH: As Catholics we are called upon to share our faith. You have an opportunity to do this on a weekly basis (Tuesdays) in the Upper Room. A meeting takes place on Tuesday next (16th) at 7.30pm to prepare us for this ministry.

FIRST COMMUNION PREPARATION: Parents who have children of First Communion age 2004 (8 years) are invited to a meeting in the Upper Room on Wednesday 17 September at 7.30pm.

SUMMER DRAW: Please see list of winners on the noticeboard.

FUNDRAISING MEETING Mon 15 Sep, 7.30pm in Upper Room. All welcome.

ONGOING FORMATION 'Teachings in Prayer'. Four Tuesday evenings - 16, 23, 30 September and 7 October at English Martyrs Hall. All welcome. Further details on Noticeboard.

FUNDRAISING DAY AT ST CRUX (to help York sick pilgrims go to Lourdes) Tuesday 30 September from l0am to 4pm. Help is needed from 8am. If you can help serving sandwiches, washing up, clearing tables, etc. could you please complete the relevant details on the forms at the back of Church, If you can't help on the rota, perhaps you could provide a cake or bric-a-brac. MARTIN SANDERSON will be leaving later this month to join the Franciscan Brothers. Please join us for a light lunch in the Upper Room after the 11am Mass Sun 21 Sep to say goodbye. All welcome. DAY OF REFLECTION -Thursday 9 October, 10.30am-3pm at English Martyrs Hall, Dalton Terrace. The day will be led by Father Gary Mulligan. All welcome.

WALSINGHAM ASSOCIATION - next meeting Wednesday 24 September 2pm at St Paulinus Church - the last meeting before the Walsingham pilgrimage.
