RACIAL JUSTICE SUNDAY 'A Banquet for all People'. Migration is a fact of life. Increasingly, every community, even every church, reflects more of the diversity of humankind. At many points in the Bible this reality is celebrated in the promise of a banquet to which all the peoples of the world are invited. We are asked to reflect, today especially on the way we welcome (or do not welcome) newcomers into our community.

FIRST COMMUNION PREPARATION: We started our preparation for 2009 this week. The first of our nine themes is 'Celebrating'. Each theme is centred on a specific action in family living, in the life of Jesus, and in a particular part of the Mass. The action of 'Celebrating' is related in the story of the Wedding Feast at Cana. When we gather as the family of God, we celebrate and praise God. Today at our 11am Mass we enrol the children as they take theirfirst step towards First Communion.
