FIRST COMMUNION PREPARATION 'Caring' By our example of caring about and helping those in need, our children learn to express their compassion and care for those who are sick, hurt, sad, lonely, homeless, hungry, finding difficulty in doing school work etc. Celebration of this theme is today at 11.00am Mass.

WE WELCOME ANTHONY ARMSTRONG TO THE PARISH - a few words from Anthony; I am Carmelite, and have just come back from a year studying Carmelite Spirituality in Washington DC. I have finished my studies for priesthood and am just beginning full-time ministry. I will be working part-time in the Chaplaincy team in the university and part-time here in the parish and I look forward to getting to meet you all over the coming weeks and months.

ADVENT PENITENTIAL SERVICE for the York Pastoral Area takes place here at St Wilfrid's on Saturday 20 December at 2.30pm. The priests of the area will be available for confessions.

ST WILFRID'S SCHOOL CAROL SERVICE here in Church on Tuesday 16 December at 7.00pm. All very welcome.

CRIB SERVICE (Wednesday 24 December, 2.30pm) - All who would like to help are invited to a meeting on Monday 15 December at 8pm in the Upper Room. Singing Practice for the Crib Service takes place after 11.00am Mass on Sunday 21 December. All family members are welcome.

TRANSPORT TO MASS Could you give a lift to a parishioner to one of our Sunday Masses? If so, please put your name on the list in the porch or if you know of anyone who needs a lift please let Canon Michael know.

CHRISTMAS DRAW - tickets are available today. Please take a few books and sell them to your friends and neighbours. Thanks to all who have already sold tickets and to those who have donated prizes. Please return your counterfoils and monies asap.

MINISTERS OF THE WORD AND MINISTERS OF COMMUNION If you are available for Christmas Ministry please put your name on the list in the Church porch. The Readers practice will be on Monday 22 December at 7.00pm.

FLOWERS FOR CHRISTMAS To help beautify the Church for Christmas a retiring collection will be taken this weekend.
