RITE OF WELCOME: Last week we are privileged today to welcome Tracy, Ronnie,Shannon, Sarah, Tania, Alan and Auriel into our community. This is a step towards fullinitiation into the Church. Please keep them all in your prayer.

RITE OF ELECTION for all those coming into full communion with the Church, takesplace on Sunday 1 March (1st Sunday of Lent) at 3.00pm in St Mary's Cathedral, Middlesbrough. If you would like a seat on the coach please put your name on the list in the porch.

FIRST COMMUNION PREPARATION 'Giving': In this theme we are looking at thestory of Martha and Mary (Luke 10: 38-42). How does one prepare for Jesus' visit? Marthaprepares one way. Mary another. In the family of God, within our own parish, we prepare forthe coming of Jesus in the meal of the Eucharist. We bring the gifts of bread and wine to thealtar, thank God for these gifts of creation, and offer ourselves as gift, as one family, to God.Our Parish Celebration is today at 11.00am.

WELCOME to Father Stephen who has taken up Residence here at St Wilfrid's. Although Father Stephen's work is mainly in All Saints School and in Diocesan work (Choir, etc.) he will be celebrating one of our Sunday Masses. I know you will give him a warm welcome.

THANKS from the SVP Conference here at St Wilfrid's for the collection taken for theircharities - a total of £335.98 was donated.

CATALINA OUIROZ has written to thank all who generously supported Kevin Martin'sappeal for the pilot training programme on preventing sexual abuse and violence towardschildren in Peru. The amount raised was £780.67.

CELEBRATING FAMILY PROJECT is a three year programme being launched in ourDiocese, the theme of Year 1 'Everybody's Welcome', Year 2 'Home is a Holy Place', Year3 'Handing on the Faith'. An information evening will be held at English Martyrs onWednesday 4 March, 7.00pm - 8.30pm.

VISIT OF RELICS OF ST THERESE OF LISIEUX to England and Wales. The relics of St Therese will be visiting England and Wales in October. We hope this will be a time of great grace for us and for many people in our land. Catholics, other Christians, members of other faiths and no faith will all be welcome to pray by her relics. You are invited to use this forthcoming year as a time of preparation, by praying for the visit and reading about St Therese on the special website that has been set up: www.catholicrelics.co.uk At present the relics are expected at York Minster 1-2 Oct. 2009.
