FAIRTRADE guarantees a better deal for Third World Producers. St Wilfrid's is now a Fairtrade Parish using Fairtrade tea and coffee for all meetings for which we have responsibility. Consumers are always keen to pay the lowest price for goods, leading to competitive pricing, driving down the price paid to the original producers of many products. This discriminates against the poorest and weakest producers, usually those in developing countries. Fairtrade helps these people to earn a fair wage for their labours.

FLOWER FESTIVAL Friday 13 - Sunday 15 July, 11am-4pm to celebrate 75 years of English Martyrs Church and 125 years of the parish. There will also be a display on the history of the parish and vestments.

SALMON AND STRAWBERRIES at the Bar Convent, Friday 20 July. Tickets £25 from 643238 or email reception@bar-convent.org.uk Further details on notice board.

FINANCE: Gift Aid £140 Loose Plate £597.95 Sea Sunday Collection £138.31

God calls us to look hard at our lifestyles and to choose to live simply, sustainably and in solidarity with the poor. In this way we can help create a world in which human dignity is respected and everyone can reach their full potential. This would be true progress, worth much more than economic growth alone
