ANNUAL MISSION APPEAL Next weekend Fr Lawrence Tajah will be making an appeal on behalf of St Patrick's Missionary Society (Kiltegan Fathers).

LAY MINISTERS OF COMMUNION - Renewal and Re-Commissioning Day, Sat. 2 Oct. in the Central Hall at the University of York. The charge for each person is now £25. St Wilfrid's ministers are asked to contribute £10 towards the day. All intending to go please take a form from the Sacristy and return it completed before 29th August.

SCRIPTURE Our Wednesday evening meetings will resume on 1 September at 8pm.

RENOVATION OF EAVES GUTTERS The work is almost completed. The final cost is £17,084.21. This figure is slightly higher than the original costing due to the delay in starting the work and some essential repairs that came to light when the scaffolding was erected

The work on the tower will be carried out next year and hopefully the completion of the work on the ramp to bring it into line with the original HCC specifications. The re-ordering of the Sanctuary will also be completed in accordance with the HCC specifications in due course.

HUNDRED CLUB You will probably have noticed that the 100 Club prizes have dwindled over the past year or so because of falling membership. The September draw will be the final one - any members who still have money in the find will be contacted by Nicholas Bailhache during September. Thanks to all who have supported the Draw over the years and special thanks to Nicholas for all his work in keeping it serviced.

DIOCESAN FAMILY LISTENING DAY - Saturday 11 September: Earlier this year a letter from Bishop John was read out at all Masses regarding the initiative by the Catholic Bishops of England and Wales to mark the United Nations International Year of the Family. Leaflets and copies of the Bishop's letter were given out at the end of Masses on that day. The replies that have been received have been analysed and from that an agenda has been put together for our Diocesan Family Listening Day, which is to be held at All Saints School in York. The topics to be discussed are all parish based and are entitled - The Family Friendly Parish; Young People and Parish Life; The Church's teaching as experienced in Parish Life. The meeting is open to anyone who wishes to attend and give their views on the topics to be discussed. Please see poster for more details,

TRIP TO WHITBY organised by ASCENT on Tuesday 7 September. The coach leaves Memorial Gardens at 9.15am and Our Lady's at 9.30am, It will be back in York 6-6.30pm. Cost £5. Payment by the end of August please. Coach is now full.
