PRISONS WEEK 15-21 November. 'Hold Fast to Hope'. We pray for prisoners, victims, prison staff, the community and the justice system during this week.

FIRST COMMUNION PREPARATION: 'Listening' The children and their families have been looking at the story of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37) and how at Mass we listen to the way God speaks to us in scripture and how we can respond to God's word. Our 11am Mass today is part of their preparation.

CONFIRMATION PREPARATION: Our young people meet with the Catechists for their first session together on Thursday next (19th November) at 7.30pm 8.45pm in the Upper Room. Please support these young candidates through your prayer.

CONGRATULALTIONS and our best wishes go to Fred and Marion Marshall who celebrated 70 years of marriage this week. May God continue to bless them and their family.

MASS OF REMEMBRANCE - Thursday 19 November at 12.10pm. You are invited to take part in this Mass for all your family and friends who have died. Leaflets are available today for the name(s) you are remembering.

YOUTH SUNDAY - 22 November 2009. Calling all young people (14 - 25 years) to a meeting on Monday 9 November, 7pm in the Sacristy, to prepare the Liturgy for the 11am Mass on the 22nd November - the Feast of Christ the King.

The Diocesan Celebration will take place at All Saints School Lower Site 2-6pm on 22nd Nov.

ST WILFRID'S PARISH CHRISTMAS PARTY - Saturday 12 December, 6.30pm to midnight at Melodies Park Celebration Centre, Wigginton Road. Tickets £5. Proceeds to the Filipino Flood Appeal.

CHRISTMAS DRAW - tickets are now available. Please take some home with you to buy or sell. If you could help by donating a prize please put your name on the list in the porch.

SATURDAY REFRESHMENTS, 28TH November. Tombola prizes will be most welcome and also the usual cakes, buns etc. This is the last session of this year.

A MASS TO CELEBRATE MARRIAGE AND FAMILY LIFE, Sunday 27 December. 5pm at the Cathedral, Middlesbrough. There will be an opportunity for married couples to renew their wedding vows and for everyone to reflect on the joys and challenges of family life. All welcome.

WALK WITH ME - a journey of prayer for Advent and Christmastide 2009. Available today from the Paper Stall £1.

CHRISTMAS CARDS, diaries, calendars, etc are now available from the stall in the porch.

ST PAUL'S BOOKSHOP will have a stall in the church porch for the 11.00am Mass on Sundays 29th November and 6th December. Lots of useful Advent and Christmas Books for adults and children.

CHANCY BROTHERS - three Middlesbrough priests and a deacon, will give a concert at The Spa, Scarborough on Friday 20 November at 7.30pm. Tickets £5 adults, £1 children. If sufficient interest we may look at transport. Proceeds to Martin House Hospice, McMillan Nurses and St Peter's Parish, Scarborough.

CHEESE & PAT& MORE! Thursday, November 19 at 7.30pm at The Bar Convent, Blossom Street - £5 at the door includes glass of wine or soft drink with home produce, (jams, pickles, cakes etc) on sale. Proceeds go to the bar Convent Trust 400 Jubilee Celebration. All very welcome.

EBOR LECTURE, Wednesday 25 November, 7pm York St John University. Speaker Dr Ann Pettifor, co-founder of Jubilee 2000. All very welcome.
