HOME MISSION SUNDAY Today is a day of prayer for the spread of the Gospel in England and Wales. Please pray that we will find new ways to shaew our faith with others. BAPTISIM PREPERATION If you have a child for Baptism our next course takes place on Saturdays 16, 23, 30 September and 14 October, 2.00pm - 3.00pm in the Upper Room. Please contact Canon Michael to book a place.

FIRST COMMUMON PREPERATION 'Celebrating'. Today at the 11am Mass we celebrate the first of our nine themes. Each theme is centred on a specific action in family living, in the life of Jesus, and in a particular part of the Mass. The action of 'Celebrating' is related in the story of the Wedding Feast at Cana When we gather together as the family of God, we celebrate and praise God.

A WELCOMING COMMUNITY Would you like to be involved in welcoming others into the Catholic Church? A second meeting for all Catholics who would like to find out more will be held on Tuesday 19 September at 7.30pm in the Upper Remit

EXPLORE THE CHALLENGE RCIA has an important part to play in the creation of evangelising and sustainable parishes Bishop John invites everyone to attend an Information Evening - whether you have no experience of RCIA or have been part of a successful group for many years - on Tuesday 26 September at St Aelred's Community Centre, 7.30pm - 9.00pm, refreshments from 7.00pm.

PROCLAIMING GOD'S WORD Our meetings for Ministers of the Word and all interested in the Sunday liturgy take place each Wednesday at 8pm in the Upper Room.

RETIRED PREISTS WELFARE FUND - this annual collection will be taken this weekend. We have 27 retired priests from the Diocese who are supported by this find.

ALTAR SERVERS: We have a faithful group of Altar Servers at St Wilfrid's but we need more. If you have received your fist Communion and would like to take on this ministry please come to our first practice on Saturday 30 September at 12.15pm.

MUSIC GROUP Would you like to give glory to God in the Mass through the gift of music? If you can play an instrument you are welcome to come along to our next practice on Monday 25 September, 6.30- 7.30pm in the Upper Room All very welcome.

ST WILFRID'S PARISH AUTUMN FAYRE to be held in the School on Sunday 15 October l2 midday -4pm. To make a success of the Fayre many people are needed to help organise stalls and help on the day. Please put your name on the list in the porch if you can help in any way

CARECENT ANNUAL HARVEST APPEAL - it's that time of the year again when Carecent stocking up the pantry. A basket will be in the Church by the 'gifts' table each weekend until the end of September to receive any of the items that are listed in the Church porch.

HCPT - THE PILGRIMAGE TRUST Helpers are needed for next Easter's pilgrimage to Lourdes. Also, if you know of a child aged 8 - 18 years who would benefit from a trip to Lourdes or would like further information please contact Claire Shanks on 07793 573259.
