FIRST COMMUNION PREPARATION The first of our nine themes is 'Celebrating'. Each theme is centred on a specific action in family living, in the life of Jesus, and in a particular part of the Mass. The action of 'Celebrating' is related in the story of the Wedding Feast at Cana. When we gather together as the family of God, we celebrate and praise God.

MUSIC GROUP If you would like to help lead our Sunday worship by being part of our group please come along to the Upper Room on Mondays at 6.30pm.

NOVEMBER - HOLY SOULS This is the time of year when we remember in a special way our deceased family members and friends. If you would like to have your loved ones remembered in our Masses here during November please take an envelope from the porch and return it to the Rectory or Sacristy as soon as possible. Throughout the month of November Mass will be offered daily for our dead.

APF RED MISSION BOXES - the contents of your boxes will be collected next weekend.

SISTER MARGARET GALLIGAN had a fall recently and broke her leg. After a successful operation she is now recovering in the York Hospital. Please keep her in your prayers.

WORLD MISSION SUNDAY In today's Gospel Jesus encourages us to prayer, generosity and to witness to God's justice - the life of faith. As members of the universal Church, we want to respond wholeheartedly to that call. Next week we celebrate World Mission Sunday - the principal day in the Church's calendar for thinking about our commitment to proclaim the good news to all people. Please pray for all those working in the overseas mission of the Church.

STAND UP FOR AFRICA CAMPAIGN If you would like to sign in support of the above campaign you will find the petition in the porch today.

YORK DEANERY DINNER DANCE - Friday 4 February 2005 in the Voltigeur Suite, York Racecourse. Live band with singer. Four course meal £21 per head. Could we make up a couple of tables from St Wilfrids? Please put your name, etc. on the list in the porch if you would like a place.

SPUC A public meeting of the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children will rake place on Wednesday 27 October at the St Mary's Family Centre, Leeds Road, Selby at 7.30pm. A warm invitation is extended to everyone interested in becoming more involved locally.

APPLE PIE SUPPER in aid of SVP charities at St Josephs Hall on Thursday 21 October, 7.30pm. All welcome.
