CONGRATULATIONS to Ailish Marie Beal who was baptised on Easter Sunday and to Megan Elizabeth Shepherd, who was baptised yesterday.

CANON JOE O' MAHONY celebrated his diamond jubilee of priesthood last Friday. Many of you will know him and his family as he was brought up in St Wilfrid's Parish. We congratulate Canon Joe and remember him in our prayers.

MARK LOUGHLIN a brother of Fr Michael who served in this parish, died tragically in a car accident recently. He leaves a young widow and six children. We remember all the family at this sad time.

PARISH FINANCE Thanks to those who have responded to the appeal for increasing the parish income. If you are not contributing through the envelope system or Bankers Order, would you please consider doing so? Forms are available in the porch, please complete and return to Canon Michael. If you use envelopes and haven't yet collected them they can be picked up from the Sacristy.

FUNDRAISING MEETING - Mon. 26 April, 7.30pm in the Sacristy. All welcome.

SATURDAY REFRESHMENTS - 24 April in the Upper Room. Please come along and support by your presence. Cakes, etc. would be welcome.

THE LORD WHO SPEAKS - A day of scripture reading and prayer at Ampleforth Abbey for Christians of all denominations in North and East Yorkshire. Saturday 24 July 10.30am - 3.30pm. Soft drinks provided - bring your own lunch. Please book in by putting your name on the list in the porch.

OUTING TO LAKE DISTRICT organised by Ascent on Wednesday 12 May. Coach leaves Memorial Gardens at 9.15am and Our Lady's at 9.30am, calling at Settle for coffee and onto Windermere/Bowness for lunch, then onto Hawkshead. Back in York by 9pm approx. DAY OF REFLECTION led by Sister Cecilia Goodman CJ. and organised by the Ascent Movement, Wed. 19 May, English Martyrs Hall, 10.30am - 3.30pm. Shared lunch - tea and coffee will be provided. Cost of the day £4. All very welcome.
