ST WILFRID'S 13TH CENTENARY CELEBRATION was a tremendous event for the parish. Thanks to all involved - our welcomers, readers, musicians and singers, servers and all who participated in our celebration. Thanks again to all who contributed to the reception in The Guildhall - the people who attended the organising meetings, those who donated food, served food and drinks, and to the confectioner who produced such a wonderful cake. Thanks also to our Music Group and Filipino choir. It was a great night.
TODAY IS WORLD MISSION SUNDAY the theme is 'Reaching out with love'. It is part of our mission to 'make diciples of all peoples'. A retiring collection will be taken at all Masses. FIRST COMMUNION PREPARATION: The second of our nine themes is 'Forgiving'. Each theme is centred on a specific action in family living, in the life of Jesus and in a particular part of the Mass. The action of 'Forgiving' is related in the story of Zacchaeus who was a tax collector. The Eucharist helps us to forgive and to seek forgiveness, and to grow in love with God and one another. Today our 11.00am Mass is a celebration of this theme. CONGRATULATIONS to Charlotte Morrod and Lee Mahon who were married here this weekend. JAMES DIGBY, one of our Altar Servers, who made an appeal here last weekend would like to thank all who contributed towards the £1,350 he collected. A marvellous response in this Mission Month. NOVEMBER - MONTH OF THE HOLY SOULS: At this time of the year we remember our dead in a special way. If you would like to have your loved ones prayed for in our Masses here in November, please take an envelope from the porch and return it as soon as possible.
