NEW BISHOP OF MIDDLESBROUGH: Mgr Terence Patrick Drainey, President of Ushaw College has been appointed by Pope Benedict XVI. He will receive Episcopal ordination on Friday 25 January 2008 at 12 noon in St Mary's Cathedral Middlesbrough.
PRISONS WEEK 18 - 24 NOVEMBER: Once a year, on the 3rd Sunday of November, we are asked to remember in a special way prisoners and their families and all who work in our prisons.
FIRST COMMUNION PREPARATION 'Listening'. In this theme we look at the readings from scripture and the chants (psalms) between these readings that form the main part of the Liturgy of the Word. We prepare for the Gospel by singing the Alleluia; we make a small sign of the cross on our forehead, our lips and our heart to symbolise our readiness to welcome God's Word into our life.
BAPTISM CONGRATULATIONS - to Adam Lach and his family and friends. Adam was received into our Community last Saturday.
CONGRATULATIONS to Alise Morrell and Jonathan Sinclair who were married here this weekend.
ADULT FORMATION: We welcome Jane Cook and Father John Lumley to our Parish today - they will speak to us during our Masses.
YOUTH SUNDAY: The next meeting for our Youth Sunday Mass takes place after the 11am Mass today and on Wednesday 21st at 7pm in church.
WORLD YOUTH DAY - Sydney 2008: We are pleased to have two young people representing our parish next year, Olga and Megan. Our fundraising efforts over the next few months will go towards financing them. The young people from our Diocese will travel with those of the Hexham and Newcastle Diocese.
MINISTERS OF COMMUNION: A meeting for all ministers will take place on Thursday 29 November at 7.30pm in the Upper Room.

LITURGY OF THE WORD WITH CHILDREN: A meeting for all involved or who would like to be, takes place on Thursday 6 December, 7.30pm in the Upper Room.

YOUTH PRAYER GROUP at English Martyrs on Monday 26 November at 8.00pm following evening Mass. This group is for the 18 - 30 age group.
PREPARATION FOR ADVENT AND CHRISTMAS: Father Jim O'Brien will be speaking on Tuesday 20 November, 7.00pm - 9.00pm at St Aelred's Community Centre.
BISHOP JOHN CROWLEY will be returning to the Diocese for a farewell celebration on Friday 14 December, 7.00pm at the Cathedral, Middlesbrough. A coach will leave the Memorial Gardens at 4.15pm. Please put your name on the list in the porch. Cost £5.
