PREPARATION FOR HOLY WEEK AND EASTER Singing Please come along on Monday evenings to practise our singing for Easter. We gather in the Upper Room at 7.30pm to 8.00pm - hope you can make it. Ministers of Word and Eucharist please put your name on the list in the porch if you are available for Holy Week and Easter.
MARRIAGE PREPARATION COURSES All who are planning their weddings to be celebrated at St Wilfrid's are invited to attend one of the courses at St Bede's Pastoral Centre. Saturdays 18 April, 1 July, 8 July and 11 November. Please contact Canon Michael for an application form. CHRISM MASS Tuesday 11 April, 12 noon at the Cathedral, Middlesbrough. A coach will be going from the Memorial Gardens. If you would like to book a seat please put your name on the list in the porch. HOLY COMMUNION UNDER BOTH KINDS 'May I ask those parishes where Holy Communion under both kinds is still not the norm to reflect on that situation please. Holy Communion under both kinds is certainly the mind of the Church, and very much the desire of our own Bishops' Conference. The 'sign' value of eating and drinking is more powerfully present when this is the case. In the General Instructions of the Roman Missal it clearly states (paras. 281 - 287) how Communion under both kinds should be distributed. The symbol of the Eucharistic Banquet is more complete when given under both kinds, since in that form the sign of the sacrificial meal appears more clearly.' Bishop John LENT FAST DAY - to date £941.19 and still coming in - a wonderful response. CANON MICHAEL'S RUBY JUBILEE - Monday 12 June 2006. Concelebrated Mass at 7.00pm, followed by refreshments. If you would like to help with the preparations for the celebration please come along tomorrow night (Monday) at 8.00pm in the Upper Room. DIOCESAN PASTORAL REORGANISATION CONSULTATION PROCESS The second of our parish meetings - Thursday 30 March, 7.30pm in Upper Room. TOWER REPAIRS Now that the scaffolding is up the stonemasons have discovered that there are further areas of stonework decaying. The cost of this extra work is £2,860 plus VAT which will be added to the original estimate of £86,104 plus VAT. Any extra help through fundraising and gift aid donations would be much appreciated. Sincere thanks for the generous gifts of £50 and £100 received this week. REFRESHMENTS restart in the Upper Room, 10am - 3pm on Sat 25 March.
