CONFIRMATION : Our young people will be Confirmed by Bishop John at English Martyrs Church, Dalton Terrace on Wednesday 19 June at 7pm. Please support them by your prayer and attendance on the night. It is a very special time for the parish. As we are now encouraged to work together with neighbouring parishes this is the reason why the Sacrament of Confirmation is being celebrated at English Martyrs Church.
BISHOP AUGUSTINE HARRIS : We are all invited to celebrate with Bishop Harris on the occasion of his Diamond Jubilee of Priesthood. Concelebrated Mass takes place at 7pm in the Cathedral Middlesbrough on Thursday 6 June. Refreshments will be available in the marquee after Mass. A coach will leave the Memorial Gardens at 4.30pm. Cost £5. If you would like to book a seat on the coach please put your name on the list in church porch or telephone 624767.

FATHER JOHN MORRISSEY: Father John was a White Father from York who may have been known to many of you. He spent many years as a missionary in Nigeria. A memorial Mass for him will be celebrated on Wednesday 22 May at 7.30pm at Our Lady's, Acomb. All welcome.
FUNDRAISING EVENT : All are welcome to the Groves Club in Penleys Grove Street on Friday 31 May. Artist, tombola, raffle - a good social evening for all. Any prizes for tombola etc. would be gratefully received - please leave in Sacristy or Rectory.
THE ANNUAL MASS in honour of St Columba organised by the Knights of St Columba takes place on Monday 10 June at 7.30pm in the Crypt of York Minster. All welcome.
'COME AND SEE' - an afternoon of prayer and reflection with Bishop John at St Bede's Pastoral Centre on Saturday 15 June, 2-5pm. All welcome.
