HOME MISSION - Today is a day of prayer for the spread of the Gospel in England and Wales. CASE, the Catholic Agency to Support Evangelisation, was launched by the Bishops at Easter to support and resource individuals, parishes and communities to share the Good News of God's love. Take a look at the website to resource the Catholic community in the urgent task of evangelisation, www.caseresources.org.uk.

FIRST COMMUNION PREPARATION A meeting for parents who would like their children to receive First Holy Communion in 2005 takes place on Wednesday 29 September at 7.30pm in the Upper Room.

RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) If you are interested in becoming a Catholic or if you know of someone who may be interested, our meetings start on Tuesday 28 September at 7.30pm in the Upper Room.

BAPTISM PREPARATION If you have a child for Baptism please get in touch with Canon Michael - next course Saturdays 16, 23, 30 October and 6 November.

MANY THANKS to all who supported the Auction of Promises, in any way, at the Beechwood Close Hotel last week. It was a wonderful evening. Over £2000 was raised for the Refurbishment Fund. A big 'thank you' to Eileen and Peter Sparks.

RETIRED PRIESTS WELFARE FUND - this annual collection will be taken as you leave Mass today.

SISTER EMILY (some will remember her as Sister Gerard). A Memorial Mass will be held here at St Wilfrid's on Tuesday 21 Sep at 12.10pm for Sister Emily who died in July. She was headteacher at St Wilfrid's Secondary and at St Margaret Clitherow's Schools for many years and did wonderful work for Catholic education in York.

MUSIC GROUP If you would like to help lead our Sunday worship by being part of our group, please come along to the Upper Room on Monday at 6.30pm.

ALL SAINTS SCHOOL OPEN EVENING for Year 6 students and parents, 7pm Mon. 4 October. An opportunity to meet staff and pupils and to see displays of work.

SATURDAY REFRESHMENTS 25 September 10.30am - 3.30pm in the Upper Room. Donations of cakes etc would be very welcome and of course your presence on the day. It's an opportunity to meet up with your friends and other parishioners.

OUR LADY OF WALSINGHAM Next Friday (24 September) is the Feast of Our Lady of Walsingham and on Sunday next there will be a retiring collection at all Masses for the new Pilgrim/Parish Church in Walsingham. Some leaflets and gift-aid envelopes are at the back of church.

WALSINGHAM ASSOCIATION - next meeting Wed 22 Sep. 2pm at St Paulinus.

CARECENT HARVEST APPEAL It is the time of year when Carecent are replenishing their stocks for the winter months. Can you please help by donating breakfast cereals, sugar, baked beans, tomatoes, tinned meat, etc. A basket will be in the porch before all Sunday Masses during September for your donations and they will be brought up with the Offertory gifts during Mass.
