Vigil 6.15pm; 8.30am and 11.00am

WORLD MISSION SUNDAY We are all challenged to share in Christ's own mission of bringing the peace of the Kingdom of God into our world - his mission is ours, it belongs to the whole Church - all who have received his baptism. A retiring collection will be taken today for the worldwide mission of the Church.

FIRST COMMUNION PREPARATION : Our first theme is 'Celebrating'. We have the parish celebration today at the 11am Mass. Please keep the children and their families in your prayers.

SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION If you would like to be Confirmed we are hoping to begin a preparation course in the near future. I invite all 14 year olds and over (also those who will be 14 in 2004) to complete an application form - available from the porch - and return it to me by the end of October.

LITURGY OF THE WORD WITH CHILDREN All in this ministry are invited to a meeting on Thurs next at 8pm in the Upper Room. Please make a special effort to attend.

NOVEMBER HOLY SOULS This is the month when we remember in a special way, our deceased family and friends. If you would like to have your loved ones remembered here in our Masses during November please take an envelope from the porch and return it to the Rectory or Sacristy as soon as possible.

CALLING ALL MUSICIANS - to help celebrate our 11am Mass once a month. We meet on Mondays from 6.30pm - 7.30pm in the Upper Room.

SATURDAY REFRESHMENTS Next Saturday (25 October) 10am - 2.30pm refreshments will be served in the Upper Room. Cakes, buns, scones etc. most welcome. Please call in sometime during the day. Proceeds to Church Refurbishment.

FUNDRAISING AT ST CRUX Thanks to all who worked so hard and to those who supported in any way. A total of £403.85 was raised for the Church Refurbishment Fund.

ALL SAINTS SCHOOL OPEN EVENING - Wed 22 October at 7pm. All welcome.

DIOCESAN LOURDES PILGRIMAGE All Saints School are hoping to take students from Years 9 and 10 to Lourdes next May half term. It is a really rewarding experience for them. If you would like your son/daughter to take part, more information is available from Sr Mary at the Lower School or on York 4649l9.

MASS OF THANKSGIVING for the Pope's silver jubilee of papacy Tuesday 4 November 7pm in the Cathedral. Light refreshments will be available after Mass.

APPLE PIE SUPPER at St Joseph's Hall on Thursday 23 October at 7.30pm. Cost £1.

CARECENT at Central Methodist Church, St Saviourgate offers breakfast Monday - Saturday for the homeless as well as the opportunity for people to be together. Carecent operates entirely on donations. Breakfast items such as cereals, sugar, tea bags and Marmite (a favourite) are needed and of course volunteers - a day a week, month or even a year would help. Items can be taken direct to Carecent or left here in the Sacristy.
