COMMUNICATIONS SUNDAY A retiring collection will be taken today to raise funds to support the bishops media office, the Catholic Communications Network (CCN) and to assist in developing an understanding of the role it plays in providing a Catholic voice in the press.

BAPTISM CONGRATULATIONS to Tessa Francesca Coyle who was baptised last weekend and to Alice Turpin and Isaac Benjamin Thomas Moore who will be baptised today.

BAPTISM PREPARATION If you have a child for Baptism a one session course will take place on Saturday 16 June 2-3.30pm in the Upper Room. Please speak to Canon Michael if attending.

CONFIRMATION PREPARATION The young people meet on Thursday 7 June at 7.30pm.

WORK ON THE SANCTUARY - began last week and will continue over the next few weeks. Weekday Mass will be celebrated at the usual times at the Sacred Heart Chapel. The Church will remain open for private prayer as usual. Thanks to all who came to clean the Church on Saturday - we will need many helpers again for the next few Saturdays.

MISSION APPEAL Next weekend we welcome Fr Tom McNamara who will be making an appeal on behalf of the SMA Fathers.

REFRESHMENTS Due to the work on the Sanctuary and the car park occupied by machinery, Saturday Refreshments will be cancelled for this month.

A CEILIDH will be held on Saturday 16 June in St Wilfrid's School Hall. Our compere will be Ellie Fiorentini of Radio York, music by Celtic Blend, singer Padraig Wallace, Irish Dancing by children of the Riley School of Dancing. Tickets £5 available from Church porch. Please come along and enjoy the evening.

MASS IN ST MARY'S ABBEY Museum Gardens on Saturday 23 June at 2.30pm in honour of Our Lady ofWadsingham. If the day is wet the Mass will be held in St Wilfrids.
