BAPTISM PREPARATION If you have a child for Baptism our next course takes place on Saturdays 16,23, 30 September and 14 October, 2.00pm - 3.00pm in the Upper Room. Please contact Canon Michael in early September to book a place.

PROCLAIMING GOD'S WORD Our Wednesday evening meetings for Ministers of the Word will take a break until Wednesday 6 September. The Ministers here at St Wilfrid's usually come together on the Wednesday prior to their Sunday ministry, to pray, study and practise.

LAY MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION - annual Study Day, Saturday 23 September at the Conference Hall, Askham Bryan College. Further details of this and your new rota can be collected today from the table in the annexe.

HOLY DAYS OF OBLIGATION The Bishops of England and Wales have decided to transfer to Sunday those Holy Days of Obligation which are Solemnities of the Lord (other than Christmas Day). This means that the Epiphany, the Ascension and Corpus Christi will now be celebrated on Sunday. These changes take effect on First Sunday of Advent. The current practice is retained with regard to other Holy Days of Obligation.

EXPLORE THE CHALLENGE Information evening on RCIA, Tuesday 26 Sep. 7.00pm - 9.00pm at St Aelred's Community Centre, Fifth Avenue. All welcome.

SATURDAY REFRESHMENTS 10.00am - 3.00pm in the Upper Room on 26 August. Thanks for all the support and supply of cakes, etc. over the last few months - all donations are gratefully received. Last month's proceeds were £169.22 and the proceeds from the Charity Market Stall £130.28. Many thanks to the people who work so hard in support of our Buildings Fund.

ST WILFRID'S CHURCH AUTUMN FAYRE to be held in the School on Sunday 15 October l2 midday - 4pm. To make a success of the Fayre many people are needed to help organise stalls - cakes, home produce and groceries, plants, books, toiletries, refreshments tombola, bouncy castle, face painting, lucky dip etc etc. Please put your name on the list in the porch if you can help in any way.

LOURDES FUNDRAISING DAY held last Saturday in the Upper Room raised £152.00 towards the fund that helps sick pilgrims to travel to Lourdes.

YORK WALSINGHAM ASSOCIATION The next meeting will be on Wednesday 23 August. Mass at 12.30pm at St Georges. All very welcome.

WALSINGHAM ASSOCIATION Pilgrimage to Walsingham 31 August - 3 September. Cost £128 (includes food and accommodation). Please see notice for further details.
