ELECTION OF CANDIDATES FOR CONFIRMATION: Today at the 1 lam Mass our young people preparing for Confirmation take a further step towards receiving the Sacrament on 19 June at English Martyrs Church.

WORLD DAY OF PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS: We pray especially today for more vocations and reflect on how important it is for us all to pray for, encourage and support all those considering a vocation to the Priesthood, the Diaconate or Consecrated Life.

GOSPEL CHALLENGE WEEKEND - Friday 17 - Sunday 19 May. This is an invitation to all members of the parish who would like to come and reflect on the Gospel and its impact on us today. Booking forms available from the porch today - closing date Sunday 5 May.

JEMY AND THE MARATHON: Congratulations to Jemy on completing the London Marathon. If you sponsored him your money will be collected as you leave Church - if you didn't have the opportunity of sponsoring him perhaps you would like to make a donation.

YORK LIFE GROUP : Prayer Vigil to mark with sorrow the anniversary of the implementation of the 1967 Abortion Act on Saturday 27 April at 12 noon here at St Wilfrid's.

OUTING TO FILEY - Tuesday 14 May departing the Memorial Gardens at 9am and Our Lady's 9.15am. Coffee break at Thornton Dale before travelling on to Filey, where we will celebrate Mass at 12 noon. The meal will be at 4.45pm before returning to York via the Wolds. Cost of coach and Fish and Chip meal £9.35; Coach and Ham Salad £10.25. Please see list in porch and indicate options.

MINISTERS OF THE WORD - meeting for those reading next Sunday takes place on Wednesday at 8pm in the Sacristy. All welcome.
