HOME MIISSION SUNDAY: 'Job for Life'. Today is a day of prayer for the spread of the Gospel in England and Wales. It is an opportunity for us to become more aware of the challenge to share Christ's Good News with others.

BAPTISM PREPARATION: If you have a child for baptism you are invited to a three session course to take place on Saturdays 4,11 and 18 October in the Upper Room 2-3.30pm. Please let Canon Michael know if you wish to attend.

FIRST COMMUNION PREPARATION: The second of our nine themes is 'Forgiving'.Each theme is centred on a specific action in family living, in the life of Jesus and in a particularpart of the Mass. The action of 'Forgiving' is related in the story of Zacchaeus who was a taxcollector. The Eucharist helps us to forgive and to seek forgiveness, and to grow in love withGod and one another.

WELCOMING PEOPLE INTO THE CATHOLIC CHURCH: Our meetings for those inquiring about entry into the Church start again on Tuesday 23 September at 7.30pm in the Upper Room. If you know of anyone who might be interested, please bring them along.

CALLING ALL CATECHISTS: Catechesis - Vision and Reality" A day for all people involved with Baptism Preparation, Liturgy of the Word with Children, First Communion and Confirmation Preparation on Saturday 11 October at English Martyrs Hall, Dalton Terrace, commencing at 10.30am (with coffee served from 10.00am) and concluding by 4pm. Cost £5. Please sign the list in the porch if you would like to attend.

VISIT OF RELICS OF ST THERESE OF LISIEUX to England and Wales. A week on Wednesday, 1 October, is the feast day of St Theiese of Lisieux. As you may have heard, her relics will be visiting England and Wales this time next year. We hope this will be a time of great grace for us and for many people in our land. Catholics, other Christians, members of other faiths and no faith will all be welcome to pray by her relics. You are invited to use this forthcoming year as a time of preparation, by praying for the visit and reading about St Therese on the special website that has been set up: www.catholicrelics.co.uk At present the relics are expected at York Minster 1-2 October 2009.

REFRESHMENTS will be served 10am - 3.30pm next Saturday in the Upper Room. Donations of cakes etc would be much appreciated and if possible your support on the day.

ALL SAINTS SCHOOL invite Year 6 students and parents to an Open Evening at the Nunnery Lane site on Monday 13 October at 7.00pm to 9.00pm - an opportunity to meet staff and pupils and see displays of work.

SVP: This year the St Vincent De Paul Society is celebrating its 175th Anniversaryinternationally. September is SVP Awareness Month and the theme this year is "Who is my neighbour?"
