CAFOD UNEARTH JUSTICE PHOTOGRAPHIC EXHIBITION, Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 June in St Wilfrid's Church. This is an initiative to raise awareness of injustices in our world particularly in the gold trade in Congo, Honduras and the Philippines. Bishop Terence will officiate at the Opening Ceremony on Tuesday 24th at 10.l5amn and the exhibition will continue until the closing ceremony on Wednesday 25 at 6.30pm and all are then invited to partake of a meal in the Upper Room prepared by the Filipino community. All are very welcome.

INTERNATIONAL MASS - Sunday 6 July at our 11am Mass. We have had three meetings and there will be 2 rehearsals - Tuesday 24 at 7pm and Monday 30 at 8pm. To help with the planning and organisation please come along to help with the preparations for the Mass. Refreshments will be served in the garden/rectory after Mass - please bring some food for the sharing on the day.

FIRST COMMUNION PREPARATION 2009: A meeting for all parents who feel that their children are ready to prepare for First Communion takes place on Thursday 10 July at 7.30pm in the Upper Room - entrance through the car park at side of the Church.

CALLLNG ALL CANTORS AND SINGERS - There will be an evening for cantors and singers at St Wilfrid's on Wednesday 9th July, 7.00pm - 9.00pm. If you are an experienced, nervous or reluctant cantor, you are warmly invited to attend this local initiative to encourage you in your ministry and improve your skills. Father Bill Charlton will guide the session. Further information from Fr Charlton on 623783.

BECOMING A CATHOLIC: If you would like to know more about becoming a Catholic, or know of anyone in this situation, a meeting will be held with Canon Michael in the Upper Room on Tuesday 8 July at 7.30pm.

MINISTERS OF THE WORD: The Wednesday meetings are discontinued for the months of July and August. We will reassemble on Wednesday 10 September starting with a gathering for all Readers on Wednesday 10 September from 7.00pm - 9.00pm in the Upper Room.

MISSION APPEAL: Sisters Helen and Roisin have expressed thanks for your welcome and generosity last weekend. The collection amounted to £843.57p.

ASCENT for people in their middle and later years - Wed, next, 25th 12.45pm in the Upper Room.

REFRESHMENTS will be served all day on Saturday 28 June in the Upper Room, 10am - 3.30pm.

ZIMBABWE: Please pick up the letter from CAFOD regarding the situation in Zimbabwe and remember the people of Zimbabwe in your prayers.

MARRIAGE CARE: A team of people have been providing Marriage Preparation Courses for the York parishes for some years. Please speak to Canon Michael if you would like to be part of this team

ST WILFRID'S CHURCH. TOWER OPEN DAY. Saturday 12 July, l0.00am - 5.30pm. Come and see an exhibition about English bellringing and a demonstration of St Wilfrid's bells being rung. Admission £2 adults and £1 children/concessions. Refreshments available.
