RITE OF ELECTION - Sunday 9 March, 3pm at the Cathedral, Middlesbrough. A coach will be leaving York at 1.15pm from the Memorial Gardens and returning approx 6pm - cost £5 per person. List for names in the porch. It is our responsibility to welcome and support the five people who will be coming into full membership.
ASCENT : York Central, meet on the last Wednesday of each month (next meeting 26 Feb) 12.45pm-3pm in St Wilfrid's Upper Room. Please bring sandwich etc for the shared lunch. All 50+ years most welcome.
BAPTISM CONGRATULATIONS and welcome to Ciara Mary Chan who is to be baptised today. We assure Ciara and her family of the support of our prayer.
FR FRANK DALY, a former assistant priest at St Aelred's, died at Nazareth House, Middlesbrough last Monday. His funeral will take place on Tuesday 25 February, 11.30am at St Francis Church, Acklam, Middlesbrough. May he rest in peace.

WOMEN'S WORLD DAY OF PRAYER - Friday 7 March. The Central Service for the City is here at St Wilfrid's at 2pm. Theme 'Holy Spirit, Fill Us' prepared by the women of Lebanon. Speaker - Major Westlake of the Salvation Army. All welcome.

LONDON MARATHON: Don Derrett, a parishioner of St Joseph's, is running for Mencap and asks for our sponsorship. Everyone who sponsors him will be entered into a 'draw'. The winner will receive a £250 voucher (kindly donated by Superbreak mini holidays). Sponsor forms available in church porch.

WELCOME TO OUR VISITORS and thanks for joining in our Celebration. We hope you enjoy your time in York. Young children are most welcome to be part of the Children's Liturgy at the 11am Mass. Tea and coffee will be served in the Upper Room after the 11am Mass, to which you are specially invited. It helps the parish if tax-paying visitors could use the small white Gift Aid envelope (found at the back of church for any offerings they are likely to make.
