FATHER JOHN TREACY died peacefully in York Hospital on Saturday 22 April. He would have celebrated his Platinum Jubilee of Priesthood (70 years) on 21 June 06. Please remember him in your prayers.

BAPTISM PREPARATION If you have a child for Baptism please get in touch with Canon Michael to book a place on the next course - Saturdays 13 and 20 May and 3 June, 2-3pm in the Upper Room.

MARRIAGE PREPARATION COURSES All who are planning their weddings to be celebrated at St Wilfrid's are invited to attend one of the courses at St Bede's Pastoral Centre. Saturdays 1 July, 8 July and 11 November. Please contact Canon Michael for an application form.

ASCENT meets again on Wednesday next (26 April) 12.45pm - 3.00pm in the Upper Room. All in their middle and later years are most welcome.

DAY OF REFLECTION Tuesday 9 May, 11.00am - 3.30pm at English Martyrs, Dalton Terrace. The day will be led by Bishop John and is organised by Ascent. See notice for further details.

DIOCESAN PASTORAL REORGANISATION CONSULTATION PROCESS

Wednesday 3 May, 7.30pm at English Martyrs Hall - to consider the final draft and receive the feedback from the local parishes' consultations.

SATURDAY REFRESHMENTS - next week (29 April) in the Upper Room l0am - 3pm. Sandwiches, cakes, teas, coffees etc. Can you help by baking or making sandwiches etc? Please come along and support in any way you can.

CANON MICIIAEL'S RUDY JUBILEE - Monday 12th June 06. Concelebrated Mass at 7pm followed by refreshments in the Rectory and Garden. See notice-board in porch.

IRISH NIGHT Saturday 6 May, 8-11pm at St Wilfrid's School. Music by Celtic Blend. Bar available. Tickets £5 inc. supper and entertainment - on sale after each Mass. Come for the craic! Proceeds towards Canon Michael's Ruby Jubilee Celebration.

THE RETIRING COLLECTION taken today is for the Buildings Fund.

LAKE DISTRICT DAY TRIP - Tuesday 16 May organised by the York Ascent Groups. Fare £8. To book please see list in porch. All welcome.

BISHOP AUGUSTINE HARRIS The official Mass to celebrate Bishop Harris' 40 years as a Bishop will be held at Liverpool Cathedral on 22 June at 6.00pm. Hopefully there will be a coach travelling from York - if you would like to book a seat please put your name on the list in the porch. The fare will be between £10.00 and £15.00. There will be a reception after Mass for all those who attend.
