FIRST COMMUNION Congratulations to Chloe, Eleanor, Elizabeth, Emily, Evangeline, John, Marian, Matthew, Olivia, Ruby, Yvette who receive the Lord in Holy Communion for the first time today. We wish them and their families every blessing and assure them of our community support.

WORLD COMMUNICATIONS DAY The retiring collection today finds communications work and in particular the Catholic Communications Service (CCS) which supports the Church at local, national and international levels in its relations with the media. The CCS promotes the work of the Bishops of England and Wales publishing literature and providing a national website. It also helps priests and people to deal with the media over difficult issues.

BAPTISM PREPARATION If you have a child for Baptism please get in touch with Canon Michael - next course Saturdays 12, 19 June, 3, 10 July. All who are seeking Baptism for their children are requested to attend a course.

CONGRATULATIONS to Tracy and Stuart who were married here this weekend.

NINE HOLY HOURS to pray for vocations and the growth of the Church - first Thursday of each month in June, July, September, October, November, December 04 and February, March, April 05. These Holy Hours will be directed between 11am - 12 noon. Please make a special effort to come and pray.

CaFE - Catholic Faith Exploration. Helping Catholics get more out of their faith. A series of seven video presentations in English Martyrs Hall on Tuesdays 1, 8, 15, 22 June; 6, 13 and 20 July at 7.30pm. All very welcome.

CALLING ALL MUSICIANS Would you like to give glory to God through playing a musical instrument in Church? If so you have an opportunity to come together with other musicians on Mondays at 6.30pm in the Upper Room. All very welcome.

SPONSORED WALK Sunday 6 June round the City Walls, starting at 1.30pm from Church. Help raise finds for St Wilfrid's Church refurbishment. Refreshments afterwards. All welcome, especially newcomers to the parish - it's a great way to chat and learn something about the history and buildings of York at the same time. Sponsorship forms available in the porch.

SATURDAY REFRESHMENTS - the next 'day' will be Saturday 26 June when we'll have our Strawberry Tea. Tombola prizes welcome. Also help on the day would be much appreciated.

CHURCH FLOWERS Willing hands are needed for our flower rota. If you could help please give your name and telephone to Canon Ryan - you do not have to be an expert flower arranger to help in this ministry.

THE LORD WHO SPEAKS - A day of scripture reading and prayer at Ampleforth Abbey for Christians of all denominations in North and East Yorkshire. Saturday 24 July 1030am - 3.30pm. Soft drinks provided - bring your own lunch. Please book in by putting your name on the list in the porch.
