CONGRATULATIONS to Brendan, Megan, Caitlin, Alicia, Ann-Marie and Luiza who were Confirmed last Wednesday. Thanks to the parishioners who supported them on the night by their prayer and presence and also to the catechists who supported them on their journey.

FIRST COMMUNIONS 2003 : A meeting for all parents who have children ready to be prepared for First Communion, takes place on Thursday 27 June at 7.30pm in the Upper Room.

CAFOD SOUTHERN AFRICA APPEAL Don't come back at Christmas time and start trying to do something then - it will be too late. Now is the time to act.... This message is given by Nicholas Mkwapata, Director of the Catholic Development Commission of Malawi as he talked about the food crisis facing his country. A retiring collection will be taken today at all Masses.

SUNDAY MASS TIMES: As discussed at the Parish Forum the York Pastoral Area is reviewing the number of Masses celebrated and the their times. This could mean a reduction in the number of Masses across the city. If you have any comments with regard to this issue please let me have them in writing.

MINISTERS OF THE WORD: Francesca Murray, a Diocesan Trainer of Readers is coming to St Wilfrid's on Wednesday 10 July at 7pm. All Ministers of the Word are asked to attend.

BEING A YOUNG CATHOLIC TODAY - Tuesday 25 June at 7.30pm at St Joseph's, Clifton. All welcome. See notice board for further details.

DO YOU PLAY AN INSTRUMENT? Our music group meets on Mondays in the Rectory 7.30-8.30pm and would love to see some more joining. All welcome.
