WELCOME AND CONGRATULATIONS to Jacob Pearson who will be baptised into the Christian community this weekend.

FIRST COMMUNION PREPARATION: The first of our nine themes is 'Celebrating'.

Each theme is centred on a specific action in family living, in the life of Jesus, and in a particular part of the Mass. The action of 'Celebrating' is related in the story of the Wedding Feast at Cana. When we gather together as the family of God, we celebrate and praise God.

APF - RED MISSION BOXES: Pat and Ernie will be here at all Masses this weekend to collect the contents of your boxes. If you haven't a box and would like one, please speak to Pat or Ernie.

SHEILA HENRY: Many thanks to Sheila for her dedicated years of service to the Church here at St Wilfrid's through her work in the SVP. She has stepped down from active membership. She has been very generous with her time and energy in visiting the sick and taking them Holy Communion.

WELCOMING PEOPLE INTO THE CATHOLIC CHURCH: A meeting for all Catholics who would like to be involved in sharing faith will be held on Tues. 25 Sep. at 7.30pm in the Upper Room. Our meetings for those inquiring about the Catholic Church restart on Tues 2 October 7.30.

JOINT SOCIAL EVENING with St Joseph's parish on Friday 16 November - further details later. Please make a note in your diary. Would you like to be a racehorse owner? You can buy one for the sum of £3 today. Please put your name on the list in the porch and name your horse! Place your £3 in the envelope provided and give it to Canon Michael or leave it in the Sacristy.

CARECENT HARVEST APPEAL - it's that time of year again when Carecent is stocking up the pantry. A basket will be in the Church by the 'gifts' table each weekend of October to receive any of the items that are listed in the Church porch.

ASCENT meets again on Wednesday 26 September, 12.45pm in the Upper Room.

ADULT FORMATION: The Diocesan Handbook of Short Courses is now available in the porch - please take time to have a look on the many courses on offer.
