ONCE A CATHOLIC : A diocesan workshop to help us reach out to Catholics who no longer practise their faith - Saturday 27 June, 10.00am - 3.30pm at English Martyrs Church. The cost of the day is £5 - booking essential. Please put your name on the list in the porch if you wish to go and put payment in envelope with your name on and hand to Canon Michael. INTERNATIONAL MASS Sunday 19 July at 11.00am. A meeting for all interested in preparing for this Mass takes place on Tuesday 9 June at 7.30pm in the Upper Room. All very welcome. THE RETIRING COLLECTION this weekend is for the Catholic Communications Network. The Holy Father's Message for 2009 'New Technologies, New Relationships, Promoting a Culture of Respect, Dialogue and Friendship'. The Catholic Communications Network provides support for the Bishops of England and Wales in promoting the Gospel in the media. ASCENT (for those in their middle and later years) meets again on Wednesday 27 May from 12.45pm - 3.00pm in the Upper Room. All welcome. For more information on Ascent please pick up a leaflet from the porch. REFRESHMENTS will be served in the Upper Room next Saturday, 30 May, from 10am to 3.30pm. If you could help by baking a cake etc and hopefully supporting the event on the day it would be most appreciated. DIOCESAN PILGRIMAGE TO LOURDES: A number of people from the parish are now in Lourdes and will be remembering us in prayer at the Grotto. Please pray for all the sick, nurses, doctors, helpers and all on pilgrimage this week. THE YEAR OF ST PAUL (June 2008 - June 2009): The closing Mass will be celebrated at York Minster on Saturday 27 June at 6.30pm. All very welcome. ST THOF LISIEUX - A time of grace for England and Wales. The relics of this great saint will be visiting England and Wales from 16 September to 16 October 2009. We are very privileged in York to have the relics in the Minster for her feast day, 1-2 October. A date to keep in your diary. WALSINGHAM PRAYER BOOK - available from the Piety Stall in the porch at £2.50 per copy. THE GLOBAL DAY OF PRAYER, Pentecost Sunday, 31 May. Prayer on the Walls 5.45pm - 6.00pm. HCPT - The Pilgrimage Trust Midsummer Ball on Saturday 20 June at the Royal York Hotel. The funds raised go towards next year's HCPT pilgrimage to Lourdes. LINDISFARNE PILGRIMAGE: Each summer the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton organise an ecumenical walk exploring a particular aspect of our faith and Christian heritage.
