TODAY IS WORLD MISSION SUNDAY 'God in Christ reconciled the world to himself.' In Christ all humankind is reconciled; it is our responsibility to make sure they all know it! Heaven knows they need to believe it, today more than ever. The Lord hears the cries of all who cry out to him. FIRST COMMUNION PREPARATION The theme Forgiving central to our lives as Christians is celebrated this month. Parents Meeting - Thursday 4 November 7.30pm Children's Gathering - Saturday 13 November l0.00am-11.30am Celebration in Church - Sunday 14 November 11.00am MENTAL CAPACITY BILL - please see enclosed leaflet and I urge you to write to our MP as suggested as soon as possible. NOVEMBER - HOLY SOULS This is the time of year when we remember in a special way our deceased family members and friends. If you would like to have your loved ones remembered in our Masses here during November please take an envelope from the porch and return it to the Rectory or Sacristy as soon as possible. Throughout the month of November Mass will be offered daily for our dead. APF RED MISSION BOXES - the contents of your boxes will be collected today. THE ASCENT GROUP meets again on Wednesday 27 October, 12.45pm in the Upper Room. All welcome. ANNUAL MASS FOR THE DEAD at York Cemetery Chapel, Saturday 6 November at 12noon. All very welcome SATURDAY REFRESHMENTS next Saturday 10am - 3.30pm in Upper Room. ST WILFRID'S CHURCH - Fundraising Day at St Crux, Thursday 11 November. Bric-a-brac etc. and help and support on the day will be most welcome. PARISH FORUM - Sunday 7 November, 3.30pm in the Upper Room. Thanks to Canon Pat Harney who has given us good leadership over the last five years. We wish Father Pat Hartnett well as he takes up his new responsibilities. ST WILFRID'S R.C. SPUC A public meeting of the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children will take place on Wednesday 27 October at the St Mary's Family Centre, Leeds Road, Selby at 7.30pm.
