HOMELESSNESS SUNDAY is a time of witness for all Christian churches within the UK to come together in prayer and to take action against the scandal of homelessness.

York Churches Homelessness Forum invites all to the Central Methodist Hall for an Ecumenical Service today (Sunday) at 2.30pm.

'LISTENING 2004: MY FAMILY. MY CHURCH': An initiative of the Bishops' Conference of England and Wales. A Pastoral Letter will be read today and a letter from our Bishop and a leaflet will be distributed as you leave Mass.

SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION: As only a small number of young people came forward last year for the Sacrament, I am lowering the age of application to 13 years and over (those who are 13 years now or will be 13 this year). If you would like to receive this Sacrament please complete an application form, available from the porch, and return it to me by Sunday 15th February.

MARRIAGE PREPARATION: There are three courses planned for 2004 at St Bede's Pastoral Centre, Blossom Street - Saturdays 20th March, 3rd July and 6th November. To book a place please call 789115 Monday - Friday.

SATURDAY REFRESHMENTS in the Upper Room. It is intended to have these events on the last Saturday of each month. If you can help by donating a cake, helping on the day or just supporting it by your presence, it would be much appreciated - Saturday 31st January, 10.30am-2.30pm.

FUNDRAISING MEETING: Monday 2nd February 7.30pm in the Sacristy. If you have any ideas for events. etc. for this year please come along and share them.

CHURCH CLEANING ROTAS can be picked up from the table in the annexe. Anyone else who would like to join a team can be added to the list at any time.

WORLD YOUTH DAY CROSS PILGRIMAGE: The Cross is at the Cathedral on Monday 26th January. An evening liturgy of the Passion especially written for young people will begin at 7pm and end around 8.30prn and is open to all. (World Youth Day is open to 18-35 year olds). Refreshments will be provided afterwards.

HCPT - THE PILGRIMAGE TRUST: Every year the York/Middlesbrough Group take 8-10 children with disabilities to Lourdes at Easter. This year more volunteers are needed. The cost is £499 which includes hotel, meals, trips, etc. Tel: 01484 541271.

Barn Dance to raise funds for HCPT Sat 7th Feb. New Earswick Folk Hall. Tickets £8.

LOURDES PILGRIMAGE: 28th May - 4th June 2004. A coach will leave St Joseph's Church early on 28th May stopping overnight in Chartres and an overnight stop in Nevers on the return journey. Cost £345. If interested please ring Pat Dowling on 655503.
