MISSION APPEAL Today we welcome Fr Tom McNamara who will be making an appeal on behalf of the SMA Fathers.

WELCOME to Benedict Wood who will be baptised into our community today. Congratulations to him and all his family.

BAPTISM PREPARATION If you have a child for Baptism a one session course will take place on Saturday 16 June 2-3.30pm in the Upper Room, Please speak to Canon Michael if attending.

FIRST COMMUNION PREPARATION It is you, the faith community that welcomes these children to the table of the Lord as you once welcomed them into the community through Baptism. We thank you for helping them to grow in their faith by your word and example. Let us continue to pray for them and their families. They will receive the Lord for the first time in the Eucharist at the 11.00am Mass on Sunday 10 June.

CONFIRMATION PREPARATION The young people meet on Thursday 7 June at 7.30pm.

THE WORK ON THE SANCTUARY continues- You will see that the stonework on the steps is now completed and the new altar and ambo is expected in a few weeks time. Weekday Mass will be celebrated at the usual times at the Sacred Heart Chapel. The Church will remain open for private prayer as usual. Thanks to all who came to clean the Church on Saturday - we will need many helpers again for the next few Saturdays. The cost of this work will be approx. £70,000.

MANY THANKS for the £300 anonymous donation recently received and to the many people who give financial support throughout the year.

ASCENT meets again on Wednesday next (30 May) at 12.45pm in the Upper Room, All in their middle and later years are welcome.

DIOCESAN PILGRIMAGE TO LOURDES A number of people from the parish are now in Lourdes and will be remembering us in prayer at the Grotto. Please pray for all the sick, nurses, doctors, helpers and all on pilgrimage this week.

A CEILIDH will be held on Saturday 16 June in St Wilfrid's School Hall. Our compere will be Ellie Fiorentini of Radio York, music by Celtic Blend, singer Padraig Wallace Irish Dancing by the children of the Riley School of Dancing. Tickets £5 available from Church porch. Please come along and enjoy the evening.

CELEBRATION OF PRIESTHOOD This annual Mass takes place on Sunday 17 June at 5pm in the Cathedral, Middlesbrough. All welcome.

ANNUAL MASS for the feast of St Columba at York Minister on Monday 11 June at 7.30pm.

MASS IN ST MARY'S ABBEY Museum Gardens on Saturday 23 June at 2.30pm in honour of Our Lady of Walsingham. If the day is wet the Mass will be held in St Wilfrids.
